Deep Stealth has released Volume 01 of our “Coming Out” video series on transsexual basics for friends, family, loved ones and associates FOR FREE on YouTube! This decision came after much thought, because sales of our videos are one of the main things that enable us to keep our eight free websites available for the 4+ million visitors who come every year in search of information and help. Thanks to the ability to make the videos ad-supported, we have decided to try this out. So share it around, and we hope it will be especially helpful for people who want to explain some of the basics to friends, family, loved ones and associates as they begin their transition. Here’s the codes, if you want ‘em:

“Casting Pearls” received a rave review from Washington, DC’s Metro Weekly as part of the Reel Affirmations film festival:

The gem of this collection is Casting Pearls (triangletriangletriangletriangletriangle), featuring actress Calpernia Addams (Transamerican Love Story) as she undergoes a series of auditions for roles, some humiliating, some moronic, none especially worthwhile. Brilliantly played by Addams directly into the camera, it is a terrifically funny jab at Hollywood stereotypes.

Deep Stealth Productions‘ short film “Casting Pearls” will have its Indianapolis premiere on November 14-16, 2008 as part of the Indianapolis LGBT film festival.

IUPUI Campus Center

420 University Blvd. (between Michigan and New York)

From the Frameline website:

Casting Pearls is a short comedic film which illustrates the difficulties transsexual women face in Hollywood via a hectic series of auditions endured by Cassandra, a transsexual actress (Calpernia Addams). Cassandra weathers the horrible, funny and cruel things said by various Hollywood professionals with plucky determination and professionalism, showing that decades of bias can’t hold back the real contributions of transgender people to the arts and media.

Dir: Andrea James, USA, 2007, English, 7min
