Iconic LGBT magazine The Advocate is celebrating its 40th year in style, including a huge kickoff event last night in Los Angeles. Calpernia Addams and Andrea James of Deep Stealth productions were on hand, along with LGBT celebrities, activists, and media leaders. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa gave a speech to the crowd, as did Advocate editor in chief Anne Stockwell, TR Knight, Jane Lynch, and Staff Sgt. Eric Alva.

Deep Stealth attended the Equality California Awards 08 as guests of the Logo Network. Arianna Huffington and Christine Chavez were on hand to accept awards, and entertainment was provided by Eye of Newt Circus and Erin Hamilton.
