Outfest opens with 'Save Me'

Friday, July 13, 2007

Calpernia Addams and Andrea James of Deep Stealth Productions mingled with pretty much everyone in LGBT cinema at the Outfest opening night Thursday. Events before and after the opening night film Save Me took place in an open-air venue next to the beautifully restored Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Andrea said, “A fundraiser we attended last year for the Point Foundation LGBT scholarship fund included a staged reading of the script, so it was great to see it again as a feature.”

Deep Stealth at 'Rick & Steve' kickoff for Logo

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

LGBT network Logo held a premiere party for Rick & Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World last night, and Calpernia Addams and Andrea James were on hand to watch the first hilarious episode.

Based on the 1999 short film by Q. Allan Brocka (Eating Out, Boy Culture) that became a cult hit at LGBT film festivals, Rick & Steve is populated with characters that look like simple children’s toys with visibly movable joints and cartoonish features that somehow manage to be quite expressive. The solid, vivid colors making up the show’s palette give Rick and Steve a whimsical look that’s a sharp, amusing contrast to the show’s mature dialogue and topics.

Check it out on Logo now! Warning: not for the easily offended and humorless!
