Transamerica costume designer Danny Glicker won the contemporary film costume design prize at the eighth annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills.
When accepting the Bulgari-designed award, Danny quipped, “I think this award cost more than my entire costume budget.”
Danny has designed costumes for over a dozen films, including The Dying Gaul (2005), Pretty Persuasion (2005), Thank You for Smoking (2005), The Big Empty (2005), The Hills Have Eyes (2006) and the upcoming The Astronaut Farmer.

Leeza Gibbons?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ syndicated Leeza Live radio program is expanding to a new station, KBIG in Los Angeles, and she has asked Andrea and Calpernia to return to the show on 26 February for a segment on her special 4-hour live show.
Andrea and Calpernia appeared on her 17 January program, discussing their involvement with Golden Globe-winning actress Felicity Huffman and their parts in the film Transamerica. Leeza asked insightful questions about the trans experience, both as it relates to daily life and as it relates to entertainment media.

Transamerica opened in an additional 159 theatres over the weekend, bringing the total to 317 US screens.
It was even playing in the small town near CNBC studios where Calpernia and Andrea appeared on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch.

Calpernia and Andrea were in studio for a segment on “The Big Idea” with Donny Deutsch on Thursday, February 23rd. Topics included “Transamerica” and Deep Stealth’s thoughts on trans issues, especially as they relate to Hollywood and the media.
The show also included Aiden Key, his identical twin sister Brenda Chevis, lawyer and author Dhillon Khosla and motorsports pro Terri O’Connell.

Andrea and Calpernia appear on-air during public radio station KPFK‘s annual membership pledge drive with IMRU Executive Producer Rita Gonzales and celebrity co-host George Takei, well known as Star Trek‘s beloved “Mr. Sulu” and an advocate for the GLBT community. They discussed “Soldier’s Girl", “Beautiful Daughters" and their work with Felicity Huffman in “Transamerica”. Deep Stealth also provided autographed DVDs of “Soldier’s Girl” and encouraged listeners to call in their support for the long-running station, which has supported independent expression for almost 50 years in California.
